Hey Scott:

What a coincidence! I used to have a neighbor named Mark, and the similarities are astounding. The Mark I know, for example, is a positive, highly experienced executive, with boundless advice for those of us needing guidance. Be it major life changing items, or smaller, more important things like:

•	How to cut your grass in an organized yet competitive nature,
•	The importance of vacuuming your carpet by alternating directions each week to ensure pile integrity, and,
•	The value in investing a small fortune in Christmas lights, and risking your life by hanging from your rooftop installing them, to guarantee runner-up status in the annual Community Festival of Lights Award.

These are all areas of his expertise, to name a few. But the matter at hand is: “To Blog or not to Blog.” That IS the question.

It sounds like your “Mark”, while an expert in the communications field, may be stuck in the Dark Ages. Yes, personal, one-on-one communication is critical, but we now live in a world where two Dixie Cups linked together by a long string simply won’t suffice for quality communication. Emails, faxes, and yes, Internet BLOGS are considered equally effective modes of dialogue in this era, which accesses an entire generation of potential clients who consider home telephone service irrelevant.

So Scott, if your Mark is anything like the Mark I know, he is a man of honor, kindness, and a friend you can always rely on. He is someone ANYONE would be fortunate to have in their life. However, you still might want to educate him on the importance of being current and relevant with today’s communication streams. That is, of course, if you can reach him on his cellular phone, which he may not even own.

All the best to the Scott’s and Mark’s in my world. There is only one of each; and great guys. Mike
