How could a Social Network drive broker profit?
November 15th, 2007 Categories: Real Estate 2.0
While at an Associate Leadership Council Meeting yesterday for the Ellicott City Keller Williams office I discovered an immediate need that could be solved by a Social Networking approach.
While discussing the current real estate market in Ellicott City we shared our successes, our challenges, and goals for our business in 2008. That is by far one of the greatest benefits of Keller Williams. Agents are considered partners in the business.
The focus was both on our market center as well as our personal business. We quickly recognized a need to match up experienced agents in need of support with hungry and willing agents in need of opportunity and training. We discussed win-win scenarios and creative solutions to partner with each other to support each other.
Another need we talked about was a better way to communicate and share resources. How could we network with each other to take advantages of our individual strengths? How could we create a Win-Win?
A Private Social Network is the answer.
For example, let’s say that the Keller Williams office of Ellicott City creates a small Social Networking site where agents can create their profile. Real Estate agents would then form their biography, resume, strengths and weaknesses, and goals. Agents could have the ability to “link up” with other agents for projects and partnerships.
So, when a top agent needs a qualified buyers agent they could just browse the talent located their in the office. Or, when a new agent decides they want to jump into the foreclosure business they could search for other agents who are considered experts in the area.
The social networking site that would be created could also include business partners with a rating system so other agents could choose wisely. The possibilities are endless, the opportunities are at our fingertips.
Brokers win too, just think about it. By creating a more productive team profits will follow. And other successful agents will be attracted to your office. The concepts of social networking are beginning to spread to more and more people. Developers are currently working on a host of new ways to use technology in the real estate business. Now is the time to adopt a forward looking perspective on the future of real estate. Technology will make the biggest impact in the years to come.
Please post if you want to recommend a social networking solutions for real estate brokers or teams or have any other comments.
